Mods

Mod is taken from the word modernist, and this started in London in the 1950s and 60s. There was actually a revival of the Mod culture in England in the last seventies, and then in the early eighties in North America. They listened to ska and soul, and mods tend to dress quite sharply, often wearing wearing suits, and also ride scooters – they were a subculture based on consumerism. The specific idea of riding a scooter formed another more minor subculture of the Scooterboy – scooterboys paid a lot more attention to their scooters and theirs were more chic and perfected than that of the mods.
