I had never been to Bluebird before but I was glad it was on our list of shops to visit when I got there. The shop is pretty big, especially in comparison to the boutique style shops in Nottinghill, and I managed to take a few photographs completely unnoticed. Their clothing range is fairly high end, stocking Comme Des Garcons, Helmut Lang and Chloe. I really liked the layout of the shop, even though there were some books that appeared as though they had just been stashed in the middle for the sake of it. Further along there is a stack CDs and vinyl, with artists like Vampire Weekend and the Kitsuné Maison compilations. After that they stock cosmetics, and then another shelf of books. The books weren't arranged particularly well, and I found myself scouting for something I would find interesting between a lot of things that were irrelevant to me.
I think Bluebird is obviously a place for people who have a the money for high end designer brands, perhaps an age range of 20s and 30s, who feel like they're a bit past wearing Urban Outfitters Renewal range and being seen in the same floral print as someone else. Given the type of books they stock, mainly graphics and fashion, I would say they probably aim at people in creative industries who can get away with wearing a Helmut Lang dress during their work hours.
I think Bluebird quite cleverly have the food outlet right next to it, so perhaps someone who is spending their parents money in there can send them off to sit and have an expensive coffee whilst they wander around the shop unrestrained. It could also catch people who are working and have their own money, because maybe they came straight from work and could do with having something to eat or a drink, and then think that they wouldn't mind stocking up, on whatever they've just had or on things they know they like as a regular customer, in their own fridges.
